Presentation of Charles O. Job's
«Meteo Series» of furnishing elements.

28 November 2008 – 12 January 2009

the meteo series:
not merely driven by function, but imbued with an “added value” that is unashamedly visual and whimsical, the meteo series explores the narrative in design.

weather-related pictograms, citing familiar cloud formations, the glow of the sun, the allure of a solar eclipse, are all part of our visual language.

these pictograms are re-deployed as "objets trouvés", which appear as basic pictograms designed with the utmost simplicity and restraint.

charles o job was born in lagos, nigeria, studied architecture in great britain and lives in zürich since many years. charles was junior faculty member at the eth in zürich for several years; presently he is lecturer for architectural theory and design at the berne university of applied sciences, in burgdorf.

his products are simple everyday objects, unobtrusive, archetypal, humorous and intuitive forms deeply rooted in today.

charles has taken part in, and also won many international design competitions, and collaborates with a growing list of international producers.
